A metaphysical play of dark humor, 'Le Morte de Vronsky' is described by Zakharin as "Bulgakovian" (a'la Mikhail Bulgakov)--but admits that it is so, perhaps, if only because its really rather strange... (for example, two of the characters are the voices in the head of the main character--and a fourth character is the voice in the head of one of those interior voices in the head). At times chaotic, yet a wonderful example of Zakharin's innate linguistic acrobatics, it is, overall, a fun and enigmatic romp--for those open to it... but no doubt highly objectionable to those easily offended.
