The only sweet or hot things that chubby, Sally Flowers experiences on Valentine's Day is the chocolate covered popcorn and heartburn she gets while being a third wheel on her parents' dates. As Valentine's Day approaches, she dreads another day of the same boring life.

But when her father is taken to the hospital she meets the sexy Dr. Cruz. The good doctor seems adamant about providing her father with the best care, and his expert hands seem more than capable. But he also seems willing to get his hands on Sally. Will she get out of her own way and let him take her? Or will she experience the same old, boring Valentine's Day?

Excerpt:
Dr. Cruz opened the door to his office. Sally followed. It was nice and neat as one would expect from an educated doctor.

“Your dad mentioned that he played football,” Dr. Cruz said.

“He did.”

“Give him this. He tossed something at her.

She caught it, managed not to drop it and looked down. It was a little figurine of a football player. At the bottom it said, “Tough Guys Eat Healthy.”

It was clearly a present for kids to encourage healthy eating.

“Thank you. I’ll give it to him.”

He nodded, smiled that sexy smile.

She didn't know what else to do. “Um, okay, bye,” she said, as she turned.

She walked to the door, placed her hand on the handle and wondered if this would be the last time she saw him.

“Oh, I forgot to give you something.”

“What?” she turned.

He walked across the room toward her. “A gift for Valentine’s Day.”

“Um, okay.”

Did he give all the relatives of his patient’s gifts?

He winked. “But you have to close your eyes.”

Hesitantly, she obeyed. Where was this going?

“Open your mouth,” he said.

Open her mouth? Was he going to give her a free mouth exam? Was he a wannabe dentist? Feeling self-conscious yet thankful she did not have cavities she followed his direction. At least he wasn’t staring at a bunch of silver fillings.

He placed something on her tongue.

“A kiss,” he said.

Chocolate melted on her tongue and she savored the flavor.

“Thaunk yew,” she said, with her mouth full.

“You’re welcome.”

She could still hear the smile in his voice.

“Keep your eyes closed,” he said.

Was there another kiss coming?
