What is refreshing about Mr. Lewis’ practical work is not only that it combines sociological theory with biblical theology, but that it comes from the pen of a practitioner who speaks from experience in dealing with people in need of esteem. He challenges the popular assumptions that only modern sociological theory can give definition and solution in the issue of esteem. He suggests that the issue of esteem cannot be separated from the problem of sin in human nature. Mr. Lewis argues clearly that Christian faith restores esteem, and this is not merely self-esteem! That is, the call to Christian conversion points beyond individualistic esteem to esteeming God, the world and His entire creation. Self-esteem flows from this broader biblical view of esteem.”

“A House Esteemed is a rare integration of evangelical Christian outreach, combined with social and behavioral research… that proposes creative and effective adult Christian education programs…that should be widely applied in Evangelical denominations.”

Hobart A. Burch, Ph. D.

Professor, School of Social Work,

University of Nebraska at Omaha

“I see in A House of Esteemed the potential to be an invaluable aid to the minister, teacher and student alike, in their pursuit of knowledge and clarity concerning some of the traditional beliefs and teachings that have helped to turn our ‘Religious World’ into a Battleground’.”
