Our life purpose is often found at the intersection of who we are, our most compelling convictions, and the roles that we serve. In this book, A Journey of Life On PURPOSE, author Avril Somerville tackles, through poetry and essays, the intersectionality of creativity, womanhood, sisterhood, race, motherhood, activism, and identity politics. It is an empowering, inspiring, and candid memoir of one woman's journey of intentionality to find her ultimate place and purpose in life.
Avril is active in her community, and welcomes the opportunity to engage in "Candid Conversations" with women who desire to prioritize their personal fulfillment and authentic transformation. Born in the Commonwealth of Dominica, Avril migrated to the United States at the age of ten. She grew up in the South Bronx, and is a first-generation graduate of Swarthmore College and PSU's MBA Program. She is a proud wife and mother who lives in the greater Philadelphia area with her husband and their three children. Though she has always considered herself a writer, A Journey Of Life On PURPOSE: Creativity, Love, Womanhood, Community, Race, and Identity is Somerville's first published book.
