18 Karat Sold? Or 18 Karat Cold?

Louisiana writer Mabry Hall presents another adventure combining murder and jewels, with a heavy dose of laughter.

"We screamed, but we weren't loud enough to wake the dead. . . ."

Antique jewelry dealer Annalee Wyatt has settled into life on newly-inherited Goat Hill Farm and relunctantly agrees to accompany her new boyfriend to his small-town class reunion. Ex football star Ryan Dawson shows up with his annoyingly adoring wife and slides right back into his role as big man on campus. By evening's end, he's bragged to the guys, groped the women, and generally convinced everyone he isn't the great guy they remember. No one is sorry when he leaves the party, but who the heck is angry enough to make sure he never swaggers into another one?

Though she's the first to admit she has no detective skills, Annalee finds it hard to resist anything involving bling. When Ryan's accused killer is found with an unusual pin last seen on his wife's dress, she plunges into her own investigation. Despite dubious help from her great aunt's best friend Tennie, she knows she can prove a wild-child preacher's daughter hasn't fallen so far from grace that she committed murder for a salamander brooch.

John Annalee and her cohorts as they traipse through northern Louisiana and east Texas in avid pursuit of another 18 Karat Cold criminal.
