A Little Laughter. A Little Mayhem. A Little MURDER . . .
A THRUST TO THE VITALS
#10 Rafferty & Llewellyn procedural series
Returning to Elmhurst many years after his involuntary departure, to attend a civic reception in his honour, Sir Rufus Seward had ignored the maxim that 'going back' is not always wise.
Summoned after Seward's body is found, a wood chisel protruding from its back, Dl Joe Rafferty receives a panicky call from his younger brother, Mickey, who fears he is in the frame for Seward's murder. Strangely, given his loathing of the dead man, Mickey had received an invitation to the reception. Keen to confront the bully who made his youth a misery, Mickey found his tormentor's body, and fled the scene...
Rafferty, aware that his brother hated Seward, and that Mickey, a carpenter by trade, has three pointers to guilt - the means, the motive and the opportunity - finds himself torn between protecting his family and finding the real killer.
ABOUT THE SERIES
DI Joe Rafferty, working-class lapsed Catholic, is cursed by coming from a family who think - if he must be a copper - he might at least have the decency to be a bent one. When you add the middle-class, moralistic intellectual DS Dafyd Llewellyn to the brew the result is murder with plenty of laughs.

DEAD BEFORE MORNING #1 FREE!
'This often comic tale sharpens the appetite for more.'
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
'Evans' humor seriously added to my enjoyment of her book. The series has standout central characters and clever plots'
AUNT AGATHA'S BOOKSHOP, ANN ARBOR
DEADLY REUNION #14
'This is another excellent entry in this marvellous series. The characters spring off the page. The dialogue is sparkling, great interplay between the two detectives, and the mystery intriguing to the end.’
EUROCRIME ON DEADLY REUNION
DYING FOR YOU #6
'It's bad enough being suspected of a double murder, worse still when it's your alter ego being pursued and it's the pits when you are the policeman in charge of supposedly catching yourself. I savoured this book and I'm keen to read the rest in the series asap.'
EUROCRIME
BAD BLOOD #7
'A spirited mix of detection, family drama, and social commentary.'
KIRKUS
LOVE LIES BLEEDING #8
'This cleverly-plotted tale has plenty of humour. It's another page-turner from Geraldine Evans and is crime writing at its best. A must for all lovers of the genre.'

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Geraldine Evans is a Londoner but moved to Norfolk in the UK in 2000.
She has been writing since her twenties, but it was only when she hit the milestone age of thirty that she actually began finishing anything. She then wrote a novel a year for six years before she was published. That first published novel was a romance, but she then switched to crime and DEAD BEFORE MORNING, the first book in what became her now 18-strong Rafferty & Llewellyn cozy procedural series, was taken from Macmillan's slush pile and published. They sold it in turn to St Martin's Press and Worldwide (PB).
And thus began a writing career covering eighteen traditionally-published and two indie-published novels. Geraldine Evans decided to turn down her publisher's latest contract late in 2010 after reading various blogs (Joe Konrath's, in particular) about self-publishing. It was the information that writers could actually earn a proper living that attracted her. And do you know? They were right! Goodbye hated day job! Hello freedom and joy in your work. As 'Del Boy' Trotter would say: 'Lovely jubbly'!
