Concern about climate change is a world-wide obsession, spawning fears about the future of life as we know it and some pretty vitriolic debate among scientists and politicians. A Very Convenient Truth is not a debate about climate change, but offers a new perspective based on a very old Book: the Word of God.

Decades of human action have not saved mankind from itself have had little, but the Bible definitively connects the state of "the land" with one's walk with God and contains promises and prescriptions both for dealing with the current situation and even repairing the damage of the past.

Climate change is only a part of the environmental trauma we see around us today (perhaps “global weirding” is a better term), but all of these events are foretold in the Bible. Instead of fighting these changes and trying to stop them (and setting oneself in opposition to God, which is not an advisable position), A Very Convenient Truth encourages people to look for the move of God behind these events. We need to consider what God calls us to do (and stewardship of His Creation is only a part of it) and understand that, when we get our walk right with God, He promises to “heal the land”.

This is not a call to inaction in the belief that God will take care of everything, but a call to the right kind of action.

Written by an evangelist who, in a previous career, received an award for Environmental Journalism, A Very Convenient Truth presents challenges. Christians are challenged as to whether they believe the Word of God 100% of the time; environmentalists are challenged as to whether they care sufficiently about saving the earth that they would consider changing what for many is their basic world-view.

A Very Convenient Truth encourages everyone to open their mind as well as the Bible, and offers hope rather than fear; encouragement rather than Doomspeak.
