Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. Lang was also a prolific author of fiction works; he wrote his own fairy tales such as Prince Prigio (1889) and Prince Ricardo of Pantouflia (1893), and wrote numerous historical texts. Andrew Lang was great friends with Robert Louis Stevenson and H. Rider Haggard, with whom he wrote The World's Desire (1890). Preferring romance over realism, he admired their works as well as those of Alexandre Dumas Père, Henry Fielding, William Makepeace Thackeray, fellow Scot Robert Burns and many others. A Voyage to Lilliput is story by Andrew Lang published in 1889, which took its position in the series of Blue Fairy Book. A Voyage to Lilliput starts with a short story describing the main character Gulliver, his appearance and life before his voyages. Next actions of the story take place on an unknown island where the main character appears after a shipwreck and find himself a prisoner of tiny people less than 6 inches height. He doesn't have any idea who they are and their aim. But after a while he is given the residence in this little land and becomes a favorite of the court. But later he is charged with treason for, making water dirty, and other crimes, and having no desire to be blinded he escapes from this strange island and safely takes his road back home.
