Estrangement reconciliation dreams do come true. The year 2014 held record roller coaster rides. After being estranged for too long, January started off with a farewell letter to my adult kids. I surrendered and was done. But, my mother had designed a better fate. Several months later she passed. Her funeral was the first time I had seen my children in four years.
Certainly this emotional event held many trepidations. But in just the six hours of that day it was amazing what transpired. With good intention, and careful choices, our healing began. Several months later my daughter and I found ourselves celebrating atop Machu Picchu; a destination that had long been in my fantasy travel bucket.
