This short story tells the true tale of the author's visit to Florida's highpoint, Britton Hill. A highpoint is the highest naturally occurring geographic point in a state. Florida's highpoint is the lowest of the 50 state highpoints, only 345 feet above sea level. You can drive to it: no climbing or hiking is involved. The highpoint is located in a quiet little park.
