In the multiverse, there are fertile universes known as Creators and there are barren universes. Rivalen is a barren universe so compelled to create life that he builds a device to control the Creators, and the ability to birth new universes. When his latest experiment goes awry, he is faced with two lost worlds, Earth and Alta, and a new Creator, Blue Star, with an ever-increasing ability to circumvent his device.
