The world has changed...and not for the better.
As the 21st century nears its midpoint, the world has become a far different place. Nearly three decades earlier, a time-travel experiment on the island of Alcatraz went terribly awry. Instead of opening a portal to the past, it opened an entrance to another world, one filled by deadly creatures that previously had only populated humankind’s legends and nightmares. Through the portal came ogres, cyclops, dragons, werewolves and vampires, to name just a few.
Cities fortunate enough to survive the onslaught have become walled fortresses. Along with the monsters came a mystifying plague—for ten years after the tragedy, no children were born anywhere on earth. Then, on the tenth anniversary of what has come to be known as The Incident, a baby girl is born in San Diego. On each of the next six days, another child is born. By virtue of their birth, the seven become known as the Miracles.

Each Miracle develops a magical power; each one except Leah, the first born. When Leah is seventeen, she receives an ominous message from the other world. The Miracles must journey to Alcatraz and stop what is going to happen on the next anniversary of The Incident, a day which just happens to be Leah’s eighteenth birthday. Otherwise, the world as they know it will cease to exist.

There are just a few problems with that. Alcatraz lies five hundred very dangerous miles away, and there are no more cars, trains or planes to get them there. Even worse, the message doesn’t tell Leah what is going to happen, or how to stop it. And she still doesn’t possess a Power of her own.
Filled with danger and bravery, magic and monsters, companionship and loss, Anomaly will keep you glued to its pages until the final, pulse-pounding sentence.
