This is the first book to explore the history of the creation of documentary cinema in and about the global Arctic region from Nanook of the North to the present day. It addresses key issues facing the study of Arctic documentary moving images, both those made in the Global North and those that, for various reasons, appropriate the North for their own aesthetic, cultural, or political ends.
