This regulation on the management of Army modeling and simulation (M&S) has been revised to introduce the Simulation and Modeling for Acquisition, Requirements and Training (SMART) concept; to identify AMSEC as the SMART proponent; to assign AMSO responsibility for publishing new DA Pamphlet 5–12, publishing and implementing the SMART Execution Plan, and publishing the SM A R T Planning Guidelines.
