Army Regulation AR 600-8-22 Military Awards is a rapid action revision effective 24 June 2013.  It provides Department of the Army policy, criteria, and administrative instructions concerning individual military decorations.  Good Conduction Medal, service medals and ribbons, combat and special skill badges and tabs, unit decorations, and trophies, and similar devices awarded in recognition of accomplishments.  It prescribes the policies and procedures concerning United States Army awards to foreign military personnel and foreign decorations to United States Army personnel.

 

This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard / Army National Guard of the United States, and the United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated.  It also applies to retired military personnel of all branches, foreign military personnel, and Department of Defense civilians as indicated.

 

The proponent of this regulation is the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1.  The proponent has the authority to approve exceptions or waivers to this regulation that are consistent with controlling law and regulations.
