This is the coolest story of an unwanted little Austin 7 car called Austin...
Austin is book 1 of the Austin Chronicles adventure series for children.
So who is Austin?
Austin is a wreck! He's overgrown with weeds and brambles and he lives at the back of Farmer Oats' old barn behind the rickety stone wall.
In our story, Vole, Hedgehog and the Blackbird family shelter inside Austin and when the rickety stone wall finally collapses one day, causing a public menace, Austin is sent away by greedy farmer Oats to Butcher's scrapyard to make way for the builders to rebuild the wall. Austin's animal friends are made homeless and in terrible danger of being eaten by Marmaduke the evil farmyard tomcat. If this wasn't bad enough, when Austin is towed away to the scrapyard by the evil Black Truck, the Blackbird Twins are trapped inside him!
Will the farmyard animals find the man in the village who does up old cars in time to rescue Austin? Will Marmaduke the evil farmyard tomcat eat Austin’s animal friends for dinner? Will the Blackbird Twins be scrunched and squished inside the Giant Steam Crusher's greedy jaws along with Austin? Ooer, missus!
Austin is a humorous and fun adventure story where friends stick together when life gets tough. A charming car adventure story with well-drawn animal characters for boys and girls, age 7 to 11, and of course adults reading the nightly bedtime story (maybe to themselves?!).
