When an aging American singer/songwriter hits a dry spell, he leaves his family's musical group touring in London and flies to Dublin to stay at a quiet bed and breakfast to see if he can get his head together. There he meets and falls in love with a beautiful artist, half his age, and their lives become inalterably entwined. Ashley Rose, a twenty-four year old artist/gallery owner from Virginia is on a working vacation in Ireland when she meets the aging, has-been, rock star, Jon LaValle, at a Dublin bed and breakfast. He's in a major funk because he hasn't been able to write a note of music in years and his whole family's livelihood depends on his talent. Ashley, who looks like a teeny-bopper and has never even hear of LaValle, vows to get him out of his pity pot. They spend weeks working at a beautiful, secluded cove where she paints and he suddenly has music pour it out of his very being. Ashley has to fly off to meet with clients and John decides to go to London to tell his brothers his good news and to get the songs he's written recorded and sent to their agent in New York to be copyrighted. While in London, the brothers get word that their parent were critically injured in an automobile accident in the States., They fly home, but Jon's phone and laptop go missing and he can't contact Ashley. She thinks he abandoned her; she was just another one of his groupies; and flies home, heartbroken and pregnant. They both know in their heart of hearts that there will never be a love like theirs again, but the child of their union on Baby Cove would be a year old before chance brings them back together.
