A dead soldier is discovered next to a waterhole in the Kruger National Park, and Captain Russell Kemp is called in to investigate. Kemp has problems of his own – he was transferred to this backwater for insubordination and is addicted to painkillers – but his gut still tells him something is wrong. Colonel de Lange of Millitary Intellegence insists that Johan Coetzee commited suicide and Kemp runs into trouble when he tries to continue his investigation. Johan’s sister, Erin, is certain that her brother was killed because he was asking too many questions. Erin and Kemp uncover a smuggling ring run by high-ranking officials in the military out of war-torn Angola for years. When Kemp is caught by De Lange’s men, it is up to Erin to get the news out.
