Benjamin, an outcast from society because of his homosexuality, no longer able to deal with the pain of rejection and ridicule, goes out into the woods in a self-imposed exile, intending to end his life. There he meets a forest Spite, which attempts to scare him out of his virgin forest, which is his home, but seeing a human crying for the first time, peeks Lien’s curiosity, and initiates their first encounter.
Soon enough the Spite takes on human form, so as to better get to know the young man, who has trespassed into his woodland. In Benjamin’s defense of humankind, he inadvertently discovers his own worth as a person, while simultaneously capturing Lien’s heart. But can two beings from separate worlds maintain a friendship, much less a deepening love?
