This book questions the mystery of death and life. The protagonist is an octogenarian tired of living because he has been hit hard in his affection sphere in the last segment of his life. His personal existencial instance unfolds in a trip back in memories of his youth. Journey is therefore a symbolic element that permeates the text, be it real or spiritual, virtual or fantastic. The protagonist travels to the places of his past, as well as the dog wanders - extempore, additional narrator - before meeting him. More than travel, the souls of already disappeared people fly, as well as Peter Pan does, in his turn, as protagonist of the "book in the book"; he will open a parenthesis of emotion and spiritual rebirth in the old man.
Death is but a transition as well as the event that will close the novel: the birth of the old man's granddaughter. What is in the midst of these two extremes is an act of courage, a shakespearian endurance that can also be shared, witnessed to others, as the practice of BookCrossing suggests.
