THIS IS A DEVIATION FROM THE “FLOW” OF THE WHITE GIRL SERIES. WOLVES HAVE BEEN IN THE FOREGROUND OF THE NEWS AND I AM NOW PROVIDING ANOTHER FACET TO THE DEBATE.
Driven snow lashes bodies. Ripping and tearing the fingers of the furies grab at the hollow insulating hair on the backs of thousands of gods’ creatures. Howling winds send stinging particles of ice that sandblast and freeze human skin on contact and hurl frozen glass like shards through the air. This cutting ice blinds big brown eyes and coats long eyelashes that are not human.
Ancient genetics become confused in the swirl of snow and white. A pathway too old to remember the beginnings of; is lost in a wave of snow. A sage leader with downcast head attempts to catch a glimpse or the scent of his trail, he turns back on himself, the herd follows and they begin to circle. Tighter and tighter, thousands upon thousands of caribou begin to build a vortex. They have struggled to find food for days and now they stumble and fall in weakness, they are lost in a high arctic whiteout.
