Spending the entire month of June on Leave with their twin daughters, how much fun can that be? What could go wrong? For Majors Megan Connolly and Farrell Gray, almost anything, as it turns out. Asked for help by the infamous Hawkins pirate family, the situation seems simple enough. Initially, that is. However, protecting a secret deemed private for hundreds of years by keeping it from the hands of a greedy multinational pharmaceutical company rapidly becomes far more complicated. A plant-derived chemical compound which apparently ramps up the immune system and prevents normal gene degradation has attracted far too many groups of seekers, some well-financed, well-equipped, and violence-prone. Keeping the twins out of harm's way may be the toughest part, but the rest isn't easy. The plot quickens and thickens. The pirates -- well, they're pirates, after all -- also understand the uses of force, as do our heroines. With the aid of the FBI, the National Guard, two very unusual Deputy Sheriffs, the German KSK Special Forces, and a legendary pilot, threats are nullified as they appear, until only the Sea Foam II, a German pharmacological research vessel, remains, filled with well-armed mercenaries and murderous intent. Down to the wire on the deep blue.
