Mental health is a hot topic, including treatment for mental illness. In this essay, I approach antidepressants in a sociological fashion. The dimensions I consider include: general information, the statistics of antidepressant usage, how antidepressants relate to the medical model, the efficacy of antidepressants, and how antidepressants can be understood through sociological frameworks.

Social justice is one of the most widely used terms in modern times, yet it’s a difficult term to define. The Christian Bible repeats certain words that seem to relate to social justice, intuitively speaking; words such as poor, money, captivity, and sick. I contend that social justice is fundamental to the Christian faith, as made evident through the lives of people like Bonhoeffer, etc.
