I’ve heard some people in Culpeper say that they feel intimidated by Cameron Manor's appearance. With its gray stone front porch pillars wrapped in greenish blue ivy and the rounded peak of the tower in the back, I'd say it looks like the magic castle you’d see on the cover of a storybook about a fairytale princess, but appearances can be deceiving.
Being born into the only life you could ever want is a rare and precious thing. Everything my heart desired was literally at my fingertips, so how could I have known that having dreams didn’t mean I’d be able to hold onto them forever? For all its splendor and prestige, Cameron Manor taught me a lesson: “Every beautiful thing has at least one flaw and every wish you make doesn’t always come true.”
My mother and I both fell into that reality, her from a height that changed our lives forever; me into another time and place that could tear apart what is left of the peace in our family. I can’t change what living a fairytale life has done to our past, but I will do anything in my power to protect the people I love from what the secrets of Cameron Manor could do to change the shape of our future.
