Now in its fourteenth year with White Mountain Publications, The Canadian Writers' Contest Calendar 2016 has taken the contest and award data from previous years, deleted, confirmed, added and updated the information to present in this new edition.
Each writing contest and award is listed by the deadline date. If you have a piece of writing to enter, you would look in the coming months to find the right place to send it at that time of year. After their arrangement by deadline date, and then day, the information guides you as to submission requirements, restrictions, and any other pertinent data we were able to obtain. There is a 2016 Calendar for your use in planning your submissions to make it the year that doesn't take you by surprise. All the sponsors and contest names are also listed alphabetically so if you know the name of a contest but not the deadline, it can still be found through the index. Geographically, the contests cover Canada from Whitehorse to Windsor, Victoria to St. John's. Every year there contests started and contests are discontinued. And by far the changes are the addresses, email, mail and websites. Anyone who says they could compile all of this on their own, has never tried to do it.
There is an exciting diversity of opportunities for Canadian writers. And it's all here in one place so you don't have to look for them.
