The looming giant was a Catapult, a scary addition to the pumpkin patch, but inert and harmless. The farmer had moved the contraption into the field earlier that day – before the cats descended upon the grounds for their nightly hunt. As the cats moved cautiously toward the specter, the air was suddenly filled with the scent of something else – death. A human scarecrow stood guard in front of the Catapult. Not that the scarecrow was a living human any longer.
