FROM PREFACE: The lessons here give light, common, everyday conversations for a foreigner, enough to make you accepted in a new way. Maybe you also want to learn more, once you got started. As for method of learning it is all up to you. We decided to respect Cebuano as an intuitive language, and present it learning-by-doing. Learning a language is work and fun mixed together. The grammar in this book is simplified, not covering all, only meant to present a few rules that make learning easier. In Supplementary we go a little deeper in grammar. We try to adjust grammar to English terms. May you enjoy reading and using as much as we enjoyed writing. The authors APPETIZER This book is an appetizer only. It will probably not set you free to read newspapers in Cebuano. Furthermore, you may not learn to master deeper conversation just by working this book. However, those of you, who speak a little Cebuano already, will find help to eliminate the hurdles that kept you from progress for such a long time. Moreover, beginners can get a real good start. Little by little, you can now learn the language spoken by Cebuanos around you.
