Ever since stumbling into an ancient, abandoned temple, things just haven't been right. Harold has gone missing and Julie has no idea where he is. The temple is not what it seems and Julie must follow her husband's trail if she wishes to ever see him again.
Excerpt:
I couldn't believe it! One moment my husband - admittedly a very attractive Elven woman after the potion he drank - had been standing in front of me, plain as day, reading the Elvish writing on the gold-trimmed, ornate box and the next she was gone.
It was a very good thing that I had quick reflexes as when the bright white light enveloped her and took her to who knows where, she had dropped the container with the red and blue vial in it.
I still can't believe the course of events that had brought us to this point. Not knowing what else to do, I whipped out my journal and began writing.
We'd been hiking in the Andes mountains in Peru when we'd stumbled upon a buried, ancient and apparently Elven temple of some kind.
While exploring the timeless artifact, we had stumbled upon this ornate box partially hidden away. The box had contained two vials: a red one and a blue one.
My...I want to say stupid, but I'll stick with adventurous, husband chose to drink half of the blue one. Damn him! It could've been poison or anything!
Instead of poison, however, it turned out to be some kind of gender changing potion. My gorgeous, hunky husband had turned into a beautiful Elven! woman right in front of my eyes.
Scared of losing him if it was poison, I downed the other half of the vial and turned into a hunky Elfin man myself. We...ah...may have had a little (too much) fun as explored ourselves as the opposite sex from our birth gender.
But now something very bad has happened and I really don't know what to do.
Thinking it would turn her back into a man, Harold drank half the red vial. Except it didn't turn her back into a man - it, well I'm not sure exactly what it did, all I knew was that she was surrounded by a bright flash of white light and whisked away.
A tear fell on the notebook and I continued shakily writing down the events as I recalled them.
I don't know if my husband was killed or transported away somewhere or even some-when, all I know is that she's gone.
It was at that moment that I was bone-achingly tired. All I wanted to do was lie down and drift off into blissful sleep. Perhaps I'd wake up to my husband snuggling at my side.
Carefully tending to the fire, I drifted off into a very fitful, dreamless sleep, my tears drying on my stubbly cheeks.
