Charles Manson has been studied from many perspectives by authors, especially those that have looked closely at the mind control he has used to manipulate his followers. I have read with avid interest a number of these works over the years. My book begins with his birth certificate, which was difficult for researchers to gain access to because of the misspelling of his mother's surname. After recording various facts from this document, I branched out to find numerous facts from other ancestral records of Charles Milles Manson. Among the historical material that I utilized are United States Censuses from the 19th and 20th centuries. From censuses I found that most of his ancestry is centered in Boyd and Pike Counties in Kentucky. His stepfather's 19th centruy maternal relatives came from West Turin, Rome, and Martinsburg, New York. One irony of history is that Manson's maternal great grandfather was called "Christ" Maddox during his life. For Manson's biological father I was fortunate to find a newspaper account of his death and burial. I have supplemented my e-book with photos of Manson as well as his biographers, victims, mother, and images of the regions where his ancestors lived.
