Three generations (Grand-mother, daughter, Grand-daughter) clash in a romantic comedy during the summer of 2003 on a old hippy commune that jumps back to life for a Fourth of July reunion. When 15 year old New Yorker, Sally Williams, gets stuck for the summer on her grand-parents old hippy commune in Beddington, Maine, all heck breaks loose. Things take an interesting turn when Sally meets local town hunk, Josh Terwilliger, then she decides to throw her grand-parents (Wesley Morris, Jennifer kapshaw) a surprise 4th of July party by inviting some of their old friends back to the place they called home during the mid 60's and 70's. Things really get out of control when more show up than what was expected. Insanity creeps in when they decide to take one last ride across the country to California, stopping along the way to re-visit the old communes of the past, only to discover, it's not what it used to be. A trip that almost didn't get to happen when Sally's mother (Christine Williams) returns early from her job assignment in France. Resenting her upbringing, Christine comes full circle with who she is while Sally comes of age, and Jennifer teaches them both that "You can't trick fate." .
