This is a touching love poem that carries a powerful message about why there are no answers quickly to questions, but sometimes our language is not what speaks, our heart does. My daughter, Christine, was born too early. She has cerebral palsy, is retarded, and cannot walk or talk. But this dear little person has taught me so much about living in the now, and how to say I love you with no words.
Of course, our lives can get complicated and it hurts me so much to see the frustration and confusion in her face. I try to explain what is happening but pray that God will help her understand. Then I wrote this, and it gave me such peace thinking that maybe God WAS explaining the unexplainable to her. Why not? Who is she going to tell, she can’t talk. What a beautiful secret to hold silently in her heart.
