Facing The Storm Along The Oregon Trail, is about a young Amish brother and sister who are excommunicated from their community because she wishes to spread the word of God outside of and within their community, and this is forbidden, so they decide to journey west along the Oregon Trail and join their aunt in Oregon, who had been previously excommunicated for her way of thinking, also. So he can protect his sister, the brother tells everyone that they are married, and this works for them until he gets injured. A young man becomes their driver and the trio is made stronger by the faith of the siblings, plus the renewed faith of the young man. Nature and man often have ways of testing faith and the three meet the challenges head on, with God to leave the pathway clear.
Emily Seeks Out The Traveling Preacher, is the emotional story of a Southern woman, right before the Civil War, who is determined to find a childhood sweetheart in a traveling preacher. When he told her that his life was being an evangelist and that traveling across the country wasn’t exactly a good life for a Southern lady, she told him that she wanted to join him in his ministry as she had attended school and learned all about preaching. That didn’t suit him and he returned to Colorado. Even though sick, she began her travels to find and then marry him, by stagecoach, train, then eventually via wagon train along the Oregon Trail, accompanied only by a freed slave.
