In the year 2040 there was a global disaster. As predicted by the scientists, the Great Floods arrived, destroying half of both the human and animal kingdoms. As a result, both kingdoms realised they had to work together to save the planet and ensure we live peacefully alongside each other. The King of the Animals, the Lion Caesar, had an idea. He granted an elite class of New Zealand children some special powers borrowed from animals all over the world. It was hoped that with these powers they could protect us all from further environmental disasters.
Despite the efforts of teacher Mr Thorn trying to keep the class's attention during a geography field trip, the ever alert Elliot Eagle spots a boat in trouble. It soon dawns upon Class 11 though that this is not just any ordinary boat but a huge tanker carrying tonnes of oil.
This story covers their daring missions to try and stop the oil tanker as it drifts out of control towards the jagged rocks. Will their special powers be enough to stop the disaster?
