The Edinburgh Techniques are a set of general learning tools.
This book combines the 4 eBooks in the 'Conquer series' - Conquer Spelling, Conquer Times Tables, Conquer Reading Out Loud and Conquer Anxiety and Bed-wetting.
It also shows how to use the core learning technique to learn material from other subjects which needs to be learned manually i.e. history dates, foreign language vocabulary, chemistry or biology formulae and algebraic or physics equations.
For Anxiety, which often leads to bedwetting, nightmares or sleepwalking as well as exam nerves we have a simple psychotherapeutic technique called the Magic Garden. This is a 15 minute story which mum or dad can read to their son/daughter at night. Within 10 days the nocturnal problems have gone, our young student is infinitely calmer at school and therefore can remember and learn more and be happier at school, at home and at play.
For those who need to improve their reading the Reading Out Loud Technique allows the reader to hear himself read properly for the first time which in turn allows his brain to lay down recognition patterns of how words look and sound which means he will use the same intonation when using these words or phrases again within that context. These recognition patterns are essential for good reading to become the norm.
