This is a novel in the Dave Porter series, written for young men of high school age, approximately 13 to about 18 years old.  However, this is fully enjoyable by every member of the family. In this volume Dave, not for the first time, aids in untangling a mystery of great importance to a close friend, and is helpful and brave whenever faced with danger.  This is a real thriller for young men.  As soon as his Western outing was at an end, Dave returned home, and then betook himself once more to Oak Hall. Here, to his surprise, he found an unusual state of affairs, the particulars of which are given in the pages that follow.
