The two families had kept the secrets of the old temple and graveyard site hidden deep in a swamp, in southern Louisiana for over one-hundred and fifty years. It was a secret that was passed on from generation to generation. The two families had paid a heavy price in keeping the secrets from the outside world. A chance meeting in a bar in New Orleans between a ghost finder's reality show and an old timer sets things in motion. The old timer tells them about an old haunted graveyard in the middle of a swamp, he tells them that terrible things have happened there in the past and the family that owns the land guards the secrets of the graveyard. Soon they are off to find out for themselves and they head to a small farm outside of Church Point, Louisiana; where they run into a small town sheriff and his deputy that try to convince them not to go there and the stories they were told were just old wives tales and shouldn't be believed. They don't take the sheriff's advice and soon discover for themselves that sometimes secrets should remain secrets. Soon after their arrival at the farm the reality team awakens a very old demon that has been trapped in the graveyard and has been trying to escape her prison for over a hundred a fifty years. The local deputy teams up with a college professor to try to put a stop to the demon and in doing so they discover the true secrets of the swamp and graveyard.
