"Oh God. It's Happening."

The darkness seemed to go on for hours and it seemed that it would overwhelm me as I began to run. I ran faster and faster, as fast as my legs would carry me without falling off. For a werewolf, that was pretty damn fast. The battle was in full bloom now. It was so bad now that I didn’t know who was fighting who or what wolves were allies. The terrible wars of the mountains were coming down around us all now. Back before humans knew that werewolves did exist we had lived in harmony and peace. Now it was all about one thing. Power. I knew that the wolves were starting to dissipate as well. Many of them were losing powers. The powers to turn. How did this happen? They lost faith. Faith in themselves and their destiny. Many blamed it on the humans, but it was us. Those who lost their ability seemed to fade into the human world after that. The worst part was I was starting to do just that. Lose my powers to change. I could feel myself drain whenever I turned now. There was just one thing that could save me now. I would have to mate. In order to stay the way I was. The way I had been born, I would have to give myself completely and wholly to a man and give up my freedom. The one thing that made me who I was.
