In a book by Petar Shobayich entitled “Byelopavlichi and Pyeshivtsi” (first published in 1923), which gives an ethnological view of these two Montenegrin tribes, there is a passage in the section on the Pyeshivtsi clan that reads:
“In Tserovo there is a location, a valley, called Dobrush. The little chapel of the Holy Mother of God on the hill above it, preserved from ancient times, has recently been renovated and turned into a church. It is said of Dobrush that it used to be the preserve and hunting ground of Emperor Dushan since it consisted of dense forest teeming with game. On top of the hill where the church is situated, Emperor Dushan is reputed to have killed a deer and built this church on the spot... It is also said that in the olden days on top of the hill where the Church of the Holy Mother of God stands, there was some kind of iron object that stretched all the way down to Drenoshtitsa.”
Iron object? What iron object? What was the purpose of the iron object?
