Hyatt Thebes has been down on his luck and out on the streets for a year. He searches for work relentlessly. Finally he thinks he may have caught a break. Someone is looking for a person to drive with him across the country. Since Hyatt has no real ties in his hometown of Atlanta, Ga, he answers the ad.
Chris Bluff is about to embark on a new adventure. His last adventure sent him to Afghanistan as a soldier. This adventure was to drive across the country, from Atlanta to San Jose. His mother has insisted he have a driving partner or she would go with him. He felt that at twenty three, he was quite old enough to drive by himself, and he certainly thought his mother would cramp his style, so he agreed to search for someone.
Hyatt and Chris meet after only a few hours. Chris agrees to choose Hyatt to ride with him.
After a very rocky start, some very poor choices and even worse time-keeping, the strangers take off on the beginning of a trip full of adventures, mishaps, angst, and fright.
By the time they reach California, the duo are not strangers; as a matter of fact, they are practically a couple! But, there are troubles with every new relationship. Can Chris and Hyatt's survive Chris's inability to keep his attention on just the one man?
