Pixie's school day doesn't go so well. First, an apple disaster and then a soggy pencil. But things are about to change. On a trip to the Rocky Point Library, Pixie discovers a magical green book. Fairytale characters have come to life out of their books and danger is lurking. The new librarian, or AKA the Book Guardian is trying to capture Alice, Cindi, and her Rabbit inside the mysterious book. So it's up to Pixie to save her fairytale friends by getting them back into their stories. Especially, when she learns the evil plan to rid their paper books and trap them in screened devices.

But wait! When did Cindi go into the clothing business and how did Pixie's blue pencil end up in Alice's book? The stories are all jumbled. But this second grader knows her fairytales and goes on a a wacky wonderful quest to save books.
