Nexto Contemporary Art is pleased to present an e-book “Early Sketches of Christopher KU”, whose works are from his early studying in Gray’s School of Art, Scotland between 1984 and 1988, with a view to offer a clue to trace the inspiration and the development process beyond Ku’s abstract paintings. The organic symbols, bright colours and loose brushstrokes together create a wonderful space on the large-scale canvas; these are the unique elements in Ku’s paintings.

Born in 1957 in Hong Kong, Christopher Ku first encounter with art came as early as his studying in Taiwan and United Kingdom. He graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland with a first honors in 1988 and received an MA from Royal College of Art in 1990. He then became a full-time painter to focus on painting and has set up studios in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland in recent years.
