Twelve year-old Kayla Arrington, who was born with supernatural powers, lived three thousand miles away from the four soul-and-talent-collecting extraterrestrial astral traveling aliens. In a few months the distance between them would change, drastically; her workaholic father's promotion included him being relocated to California from New York City. Only her mother, Ellen, was aware of her supernatural powers, but, for quite some time, was not familiar with a crucial factor regarding them. Kayla's casual friendship and bond with a male much older than her did not set well with her mother, at all.  Though Ellen would not dare to admit it, since she knew that her daughter would accuse her of being prejudice, she was even more disturbed over the fact that Kayla and her older male friend were from different races. For this reason, and the fact that Kayla was becoming more streetwise and tougher each day, Ellen felt that moving to a small town in California was a blessing in disguise.

Not long after her family relocated to Torrance, California, Ellen's blissfulness began to fade. It started when Kayla informed her mother that the physical body of Norie, one of her nice school teachers, was being shared with the invading soul of one of four astral traveling aliens. In addition, Ellen's peace-of-mind was slammed even more so by the sudden frequent backyard conversations that Kayla began to hold, at length, with the invisible earth-wandering soul of a suicide victim. Kayla's steadily increasing powers, also, enabled her to be aware of another group of aliens who were preying on humans, secretly. All of this caused Ellen's marital problems to seem like the least of new worries. Kayla's endless supernatural escapades would definitely put Ellen's sanity to the test. Her powers were a magnet that constantly attracted exciting, daring and adventurous incidents. First and foremost, Kayla, also, became the third member of a vigilante duo on an inflexible mission to halt the wicked actions and deeds of the four soul-and-talent-collecting aliens, along with any other supernatural foes of humanity.
