About the Author, Kris Maher:
I have been an avid gardener for as long as I can remember.
From childhood on. I was always exposed to gardening. My love for nature and plants continued to my adult life, where I pursued a degree in Horticulture while working in a flower shop and taking care of my two children. For the last 20 years, I have studied, volunteered and worked to help people solve their plant problems. In addition to gardening, I enjoy painting and photographic subjects for my paintings and website. Since 2004, I maintain a website called Hortchat.com plant care and gardening tips, a horticultural site with plant information and where visitors can blog about their plant successes and problems. Hortchat has been and continues to be a challenge and great learning experience.
