THIS IS THE BOOK OF SILKA SHAMROCK The story is of a young girl. From an Irish background, her father had run away from Ireland to England 1945 and signed up for the RAF, although he was only fifteen years old, had lied about his age, and was sent off to Singapore, his brother Mick came looking for him from Ireland, and although the war office became aware of this, they could only bring him back from the front lines, and he was given the job of running behind the camera man, and holding his equipment, this without any doubt, had a profound effect on the family that he created in the years to come! Silka’s life was that as a child dealing with not only her father’s Irish violent mood swings, but also that of her mother’s cruelty, Silka learnt at a very young age, she was on her own, and what grew out of the negative, became her strongest ally, stubbornness! I do hope you enjoy the journey, I want you to cry to laugh and get mad with me, but with all this, I also want you to know, that I have no regrets!
