Elvis Presley came from very modest beginnings and grew up to become one of the major names in rock 'n' roll. By the mid-1950s, he seemed on the radio, television and the silver screen. Since his demise, Presley has persisted one of the world's most prevalent music icons.

Raised by affectionate, working-class parents, Presley's family had little money. He was deeply dedicated to his parents, particularly his mother, Gladys, and was raised to have a strong belief in God.

Presley got his first guitar at the age of 10, and soon after, had his first taste of musical achievement when he won a talent show at Humes High School in Memphis.

That was only the begging of a great music career. His great creations are still alive and he will be always in our hearts.
