As this lovely day of July 12, 2012 A.D., is coming to a close and twilight is creeping accompanied by a cicadas orchestra here in Middle-earth, I, a humble Elf girl by the name of Arien Amarthmetta-et-Wilvarin, am writing this message to you, dear Earthling, reader of Elwendagor. You will find as you turn this page, a collection of poems I have written after having loved a Mortal warrior man for eight years without actually meeting him in your beautiful but at times such cruel reality. You will also find here some words in my native languages, Quenya and Sindarin. Worry not. Anastasia Duchevski has translated everything for you. Before I return to Valinor forever, I care to share with you some humble poetic tries and trials titled Battle of the Hearts. At the end of the day, we Elves do carry wings and swords, gentle hearts and sharp arrows, immortal souls and breakable bodies; you may find that this beautiful burden is quite heavy. Yet love is indeed a war, and all wars are bloody. Earth and Humans know that better than anyone else. So this is an intimate recital dedicated to a battle of two hearts so different so pray allow me to share it with you. Hantale
