Natalie and Evie are very different people.  They are very different in age, and in income, and at very different stages of their lives.  Natalie is a partner in a large law firm, and Evie is a law student at university.  They meet at a work function of Natalie’s, where Evie is working as a waitress, and begin to talk.  Natalie is lonely, has been single for years, and is intensely attracted to Evie.  On impulse, she offers Evie money for sex.

Evie is surprised, and unsure whether to accept, or be offended, or quite what she should do.  In the end, the simplest thing seems to be to say yes.  She isn’t sure why, and is a little surprised at herself, but it seems like it she might as well, since - although Natalie doesn’t know it - she is attracted to Natalie too and probably would have ended up sleeping with her anyway.

From that beginning, Evie and Natalie become closer, overcoming the slightly odd way they met.  They begin to deal with the problems their different ages and lives pose to a relationship.  They disagree, but cope when they do, and gradually become closer.  In the end, after obstacles and misunderstandings and confusion, everything ends happily.
