Face the Future is a four-part book series that addresses topics of special relevance and interest to the over-60s. Balancing practical advice, inspirational stories and a generous dose of humour, William Cutting shows how Seniors can live life to the full, with purpose, pleasure and a positive approach.
This second book addresses some of the challenges and joys of Senior life. Grandparenting offers wonderful opportunities to model values and share quality moments with the younger generation. Each person has a legacy to pass on. And at a time when memory may be failing and the body weakening, the spiritual dimension of Senior life can grow stronger than ever. There is an opportunity to look forward to a heavenly home, as well as to recall fond memories of a life of experiences.
This is a book to share with friends, especially Senior friends. The humour, the stories, the illustrations, the practical wisdom, the Bible passages and thoughtful prayers are great to enjoy on one's own, but they would be better enjoyed if read aloud while visiting an old friend. I look forward to doing so with my eldest brother who is in his eighties and living in a Care Home.
Having known William since school days, I know a number of the people who feature in his book, and that has made it specially enjoyable for me. But you don't need to know the people concerned to appreciate what is written about them.

There is much in Dr William Cutting's highly readable book that will cause pensioners not only to stop and think, but to smile and laugh. He speaks to the heart without bypassing the mind.
Like his first volume of 'Face the Future', this second is a thoughtful and original contribution to the aging process and our mortality. From beginning to end he keeps his readers pondering and laughing.
The book is a lovely blend of seriousness and humour. He once again deals with profound matters lightly and with lighter matters seriously. There is a freshness about the way he explores many of the blessings and joys as well as some of the problems of growing old.
I have long thought that 'Seniors', as William Cutting prefers to call those 'rich in years', are in some respect like house plants; whereas some go to seed, others to pot, others blossom! In this book he highlights some of the secrets of those whose lives not only mature but blossom with the passing years.
