Rosenkranz is dead, along with her host Paisey. Morales is convinced that the killer is a vampire hunter, and Paisey was merely collateral damage. Who could decapitate Rosenkranz other than an experienced vampire hunter?
Morales throws himself into the investigation. He’s determined that he will be the one to find Rosenkranz’s killer. He will prove himself, and overcome the shameful event that no one in the Vampire Guild seems willing to forgive. He tracks down Rosenkranz’s ex-boyfriend, and has Kit investigate Paisey, the dead human.
But as Kit investigates Rosenkranz’s host, she discovers that Paisey wasn’t a human at all, but an immigrant from the Realm of the Faerie. What if Paisey was the real target, and Rosenkranz was the collateral damage?
Morales doesn’t believe in faeries, and thinks that Kit’s faerie killer theory is just a crazy story.
Until Kit goes missing…
