I think she worries that her English isn’t good enough yet…” He shoved the credit card in his pocket nervously. “Soon though, she’s getting better every day.” He lifted his head again and smiled at Gladys. “I’ll be off then, see you next time.”
“See you,” the shop owner replied, giving a small wave. “Tell her I said hello at least.”
“I will! Thanks again.” He headed outside once more, taking a breath. Soon the outside world would no longer exist...
